Parent Involvement

It takes a village to put on a show!  Check out the following ways you can get involved and help! 

Build Days/Saturday Rehearsals – All students are expected to attend both build days. Parents are also welcome to come – there is much to do from helping build and paint the set as well as costume construction and sewing. We also serve lunch to the kids on build days. Parents are needed to set up and serve lunch.

Tech Week – Since rehearsals will be longer during Tech Week – April 29 – May 2,  the boosters will provide a “craft services” table Monday-Wednesday. Students can grab snacks before they get into costume to help hold them over until they get home! The Boosters will provide a “main” snack and will collect donations for granola bars, cheese sticks and other snacks.

Preview Day – During the school day on Thursday, May 2nd, the kids will perform parts of the show for classes that come to the auditorium. Students are excused from their classes. We will serve a pizza lunch to the kids on this day. We’ll need sides, desserts, and set-up/serving help.

Saturday Performances/In Between Shows – The boosters will provide a meal between the performances on Saturday, May 4th.

Front of House for Performances – There are so many ways to help in the lobby on performance days! This is a great way to get to know other parents and to get into the pre-show excitement! We need volunteers to help with tickets, concessions, ushering, etc!

Fiddler on the Roof is our Cappies show for 2023-24. The Cappies critics will come to our performance on Friday May 3. (More info about the Cappies here: ) The boosters’ role is to host the Cappies Critics before the show, during intermission, and after the show while they meet. 

  • We will need a team to help plan and decorate the room. Herndon’s student Cappies Critic Team will handle the bulk of this, and we’ll be there to help them!
  • We will also need a few people who can clean up and reset the room during Act I.
