Eight Scenes In Search of a Theme

Two People x Four Corners = Eight Scenes in Search of a Theme

Featuring original text by the HHS Advanced Theatre class

HHS' Advanced Theatre class presents an evening of scenes from the great writers of the American Theater.  Scenes span time periods and cross boundaries from the 1930's to the present.  Through class discussions and exercises, we have discovered that all of our scenes are in some way about connecting - exploring a desire to connect or lack of human contact.  Interspersed throughout our scenes is original text that explores the idea of human connection in today's age of social media disconnection.

Big the Musical - Summer Grand

July 29 and 30, 2016 @ 7:30 p.m

July 31, 2016 @ 2 p.m.

The Grand Musical Theatre Experience returned to Herndon High School with a production of “Big The Musical” by John Weidman, music by David Shire and lyrics by Richard Maltby, Jr.

Josh Baskin is sick of being an awkward kid. At a carnival, he makes a wish to the Zoltar machine to become "big." To his shock, his wish is granted. After an understandably awkward beginning, Josh is forced to do "adult" things like getting a job and a girlfriend. In the end, he discovers there's much more to being an adult than he bargained for, and learns we must all grow up at our own pace. Big the musical is the perfect show for all ages.
